The museum’s collection covers artefacts belonging to or related to artists from the early pioneers to modern stars, and includes:
- A sound collection including 78s, LPs, 45s, CDs, reel-to-reel audiotape and oral histories
- A video library including DVDs, VHS, videotapes and historical Prime TV Country Music videos
- Master records
- Books, periodicals, significant documents and sheet music
- Promotional materials including posters
- Photographs
- Oil paintings including those featuring Archibald Prize entries such as that of Lionel Long by Gundars Eglentals and four paintings by Pro Hart including The Fiery Red Steer, Taparua on the Roper River, Kangaroo and Study for the Overland Telegraph
- Historical musical instruments dating back to the 1930s
- A collection of stage clothing dating back to the 1930s
