The ACMF is run entirely by volunteers and every volunteer hour will assist our work in the collection, preservation and display of Australia’s Country Music Heritage!

People volunteer at the ACMF for a number of reasons, including:

  • Genuine passion for Australian country music
  • Sharing their knowledge with museum visitors
  • Helping preserve and promote the history of Australian country music
  • Meeting new friends
  • Giving back to their community

How can you help?

  • Collecting entry fees
  • Welcoming visitors
  • Imparting your knowledge of Australian country music artists

Behind the scenes

  • Work side by side with the museum curator in the display of artefacts
  • Assist the Archivist with data entry of acquisitions
  • Electronic documentation of photographs
  • Raffle ticket sales
  • General office work
  • General maintenance

Some of our volunteers work office hours, five days a week and may even offer to open the museum to special groups on weekends. Others are more casual, working special events. If you have a few days a week, or a couple of hours every now and then, we would love to hear from you!

As a volunteer you will not be reimbursed for travel.

All of our volunteers are covered by the NSW state government insurance that protects volunteer workers for injury or damage as a result of work-related activities. Volunteers must sign-in/out on the attendance sheet each time they are on duty to be fully covered by the insurance policy.
