Mark Von BERTO (1986)

Mark von Berto

1941 – Born on August 1st in Launceston, Tasmania.

Mark was raised in Inverell, but was mostly known in Queensland.

1956 – At age 15 he won a heat in Amateur Hour.

1957 – Toured with Reg Lindsay.

1964 – Recorded with EMI Columbia.

1965 – Support act for the tour by Marty Robins, then with Slim Dusty.

He appeared on many television programs such as “Your Hit Parade”, “The Reg Lindsay Country and Western Hour”, “Brisbane Tonight”, “Channel 9 Breakfast Show”, “House Party” and in Edmonton in Canada.

He was the producer with “Star Sound” mobile studio with Channel 9 in Brisbane and then NRN 11, Coffs Harbour.

He co-hosted “Down Under Country” with John McSweeney in Brisbane.

1986 – Inducted into the Hands of Fame.
