Johnny Mac

Born Johnny Macareth in Parkside, Adelaide.

1956 – Commenced his career in Canada.

On return to Australia he recorded on G.A.S (later became W & G).

His first Number 1 hit in South Australia was “Pink Champagne”.

Compere of AD57’s television show called “Country Styles”.

1969 – 1971 – Toured Vietnam.

Hosted a television program in Canada.

1978 – Inducted into the Hands of Fame.

1986 - South Australian Country Music Festival Awards- Inducted into the Hall of Fame.
