Col ELLIOT (2001)

Col Elliot

1948 – Born on the 29th of July, in England.

1950 – Family arrived in Australia and settled in Lyndale, North Dandelong in Victoria.

1965 – Joined the Royal Australian Navy. He started his singing career whilst in the navy, performing at bars in Singapore and Hong Kong.

1972 – Col left the navy and his continued his musical career, but with a comedy bent.

After winning  Kevin Dennis New Faces he release a comedy cassette, “You Can’t Help Laughing With Col – Vol 1”. By the time Vol 3 was available he had sold over 100,000 copies of his cassettes.

2001 – Inducted into the Hands Of Fame.

2006 – South Australian Country Music Festival Awards- Inducted into the Hall of Fame.

As well as his comedy material he has also recorded a number of straight songs including the very successful “Hankies from Nanna”.
