Ian CASTLES (1987)

Ian Castle

1937 – Born on September 18th at Coburg, Victoria.

His first public performance was at the age of 7 and by 14 he had joined the Victorian Banjo Club. Had won numerous talent quests in Victoria.

1957 – Made his first recording at age 20. He had been working as a professional musician for 4 years. He joined the Rocky Page show and toured throughout Victoria.

1968 – Ian toured Australia with the American showman and wrestler Chief Little Wolf Rodeo Show and the Buddy Williams Show.

Ian then put his guitar away for 20 years to concentrate on his business.

1985 – At the South Australian Country Music Festival Awards he was inducted into the Avenue of Honour. Urged on by his wife and the Howie Brothers he returned to singing.

1987 – Inducted into the Hands Of Fame in Tamworth.

1998 – Released “One and One Made Three”.

2002 – Awarded 1st place in the “Golden Oldies TIARA Awards” in Tamworth and 2nd place in

2003 – Released “August Moon”

2006 – Released Ian Castles Sings At Warrook”.

2014 – Released “One Pair of Hands”.
