Ken Cameron

1927 – Born on the 29th of October

1969 - One of the early independent recording labels in Australia was commenced by Ken Cameron & Ross Murphy-taking the name “CM Records”.

John “Doc” Riley, their first release, was recorded in Tamworth at radio 2TM.

Ken & Ross went their own way with Ken keeping the CM label and based it in his home town Dubbo.

Many well known artists got their first releases with CM in the 70’s such as Ian Betteridge, Bluey Francis, Gordon Parsons, Allan “Swanny” Swanson, Desree Crawford, Capital Country Music Band featuring Barry Thornton, Coral Dasey etc.

CM Records had their own record press so were able to release the product much sooner.

2007 - Inducted into Tamworth’s Hands Of Fame.

2009 – Passed away on the 19th of May at Iluka NSW.
