Robbie BROWN (1992)

Robbie Brown

Born in Tamworth on December 7th.

His uncle, Geoff Brown, had a big influence on his early musical career.

1970’s – Tour with the Singing Kettles and with Reg Lindsay for 5 years.

He played at the “Texas Tavern” in Sydney as the resident bass player for a number of years and backed international artists such as Shirley Bassey and Sammy Davis Jnr.

1975 – Golden Guitar for New Talent of the Year with “Beautiful World”.

He later formed the “Gillian Eastoe” and “King Dog Band” with Phil Emmanuel. He was also a member of the 2KY Country Band which featured Darcy Le Year and later with the Michael Roycroft Cosmic Cowboys in Tamworth.

He has toured with many artists, Lee Kernaghan, Jean Stafford (was her musical director for 10 Years).

1992 – Inducted into the Hands of Fame.

1997 – Started TIARA (Tamworth Independent Artists Recognition Awards).

2005 – Signed with publishing company Aussie Independent.
