Charlie BELLERT  (1980)

Charlie Bellert

1928 – Born on July 20th in Mundubbera, Queensland.

1940 – Age 12 started to get interested in country music.

Charlie with Allan Swanson appeared on the Australian Amateur Hour together.

1958 – His radio program on 4RC Rockhampton and 4LG Longreach lasted for 14 years.

Charlie & his wife Gladys played a big part in the country music club scene in Queensland.

When their family arrived they all sang & played together. They recorded an EP & a LP “This Song Is Just For You” on CM Records based in Dubbo in the early 1970’s.

1972 – Recorded “Blue Eyes Crying in The Rain” on an EP for CM Records in Dubbo.

1974 – Recorded another EP.

His most popular recording was “Take Your Shoes Off When Your Walking Through My Mind”.

Charlie was a popular act at festivals including Tamworth

1980 - Inducted into Tamworth Hands Of Fame 

2000 – Passed away on the 10th of February.
