Kenny ARNOTT (1998)

Kenny Arnott

1937 - Born in Horsham, Victoria.

Toured with the Gill Brothers Rodeo and he became one of the most popular stars to tour with the show.

Kenny accepted a series of night-club engagements in Sydney. Before leaving for Sydney he was due at Planet Studios for his next recording session and there he recorded four 45's. The song titled "The Singing Wanderer" is his own composition and tells of his tour of Australia.

1955 – Recorded on Planet Records a 10 track album “The Hillbilly Classics”. This was the first “Hillbilly” recording for Planet Records.

1955 – Recorded a 6 track EP (extended play 45) for Planet Records- “The Singing Wanderer”.

1956 – Recorded an EP – “Reward”

1958 – Recorded “Robbery Under Arms” and “One Has My Name (The Other Has My Heart)”, and an album “Kenny Arnott Encores”.

1989 – Recorded “Tom Dooley” and “Pub With One Beer” as a single.

1960 – Recorded an EP “Country Style No 1”.

1964 – Recorded a single The Rebel Johnny Yuma” and “The Prisoner Song”

1988 - Inducted into the Country Music Hands Of Fame.
